Mr. Flaherty is one of the founding members of Cybus Capital and, has been with Cybus and its predecessors for over 25 years. As partner in charge of the firm's Sacramento, California office and West Coast investment banking business, Mr. Flaherty is involved in the origination, structuring and marketing of investment banking transactions. Transaction accomplishments include buy/sell side mergers and acquisitions, management buyouts, restructurings and refinancings, recapitalizations, as well as growth debt and equity placements. He is a graduate of South Dakota State University, achieving B.S. degrees in Agricultural Business and Agricultural Economics and a graduate of the Kellogg Graduate School of Management's Mergers and Acquisitions Executive Program. He is involved in several trade associations and addresses various industry groups throughout the food industry. He is currently serving on the Board of Directors for Sioux-Preme Packing Co. and EarthRenew Organics, Ltd.

Mr. McGarvey is one of the founding members of Cybus. His expertise includes negotiating, structuring, pricing and underwriting private placement debt and equity related securities, as well as managing a $250 - $500 million pool of fixed income assets. Mr. McGarvey has been active in the management and growth of Cybus' investment banking business. He is involved in the development of new investment banking relationships for the firm. Mr. McGarvey has been involved in LOHAS (Lifestyles of Health & Sustainability) industry space for the past 10 years and is developing an extended focus in renewable energy, green manufacturing, natural and organic foods and health and wellness companies. Prior to joining the firm in 1995, Mr. McGarvey was with The Principal Financial Group and First Bank Systems, focusing on institutional investing and private placement securities. Mr. McGarvey holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Denver, and an MBA from Babson College.

Mr. McGarvey is a founding member of Cybus and its predecessor since 1990, specializing in the negotiation and structuring of equity related agreements, investments and placements. He has significant background as a principal in the purchase and sale of companies, including past and current ownership positions in national food companies. Prior to joining Cybus, Mr. McGarvey served as General Counsel for Graham Investment Co. from 1980-1989, as lead acquisition negotiator. Prior to joining Graham, he was a partner in the law firm of Nyemaster, Goode, McLaughlin, Emery & O'Brien, specializing in taxation law. Mr. McGarvey received a Juris Doctorate from Creighton University, and a Master's in taxation from New York University.

Mr. McGarvey joined Cybus in 2005 with an emphasis in the renewable energies and natural and organic food sectors. Mr. McGarvey is responsible for overseeing the creation of private placement memorandums, market valuations, and industry and company research. Prior to joining Cybus, Mr. McGarvey was a research manager for International Data Corporation’s Asia/Pacific Internet division and was based in Hong Kong and Beijing, China. More recently, Matthew built a social enterprise in Lhasa, Tibet aimed at furthering the development of a local economy within Tibet. Mr. McGarvey is a graduate of Boston College and holds a bachelors degree in Philosophy, with a minor in Asian Studies.
BRIAN JONES | Director of Financial Operations

Brian Jones joined Cybus in 2006 and currently performs the duties of Director of Financial Operations. In this capacity, Mr. Jones prepares financial reports, budgets and other key management tools as well as administration of payroll and employee benefits. Mr. Jones received his undergraduate degree and MBA from Iowa State University. He holds Series 7 and 63 NASD securities licenses. Prior to joining Cybus, Brian spent the past 6 years in financial operations with Investors Management Group and EMC Insurance.

Zach Leonard joined Cybus in June 2006 as a Financial Analyst. Mr. Leonard’s responsibilities include company and industry research, financial modeling, and preparation of marketing materials. Mr. Leonard is a graduate of The University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business where he received a BBA in Finance. Prior to graduating, he worked in sales and marketing and interned in the insurance industry.
